Juan Cruz Chapuy

I am Juan Cruz Chapuy, a lawyer and mediator with experience promoting human rights and education in contexts of confinement. My career has centered on the criminal justice field, where I have worked as a defense attorney and coordinated educational programs within prison facilities, with a focus on restorative justice and torture prevention.

Professional Experience

  • Private defense attorney in the criminal courts of the first judicial district of the Province of Mendoza (from February 2019 to the present).
  • General Coordinator of the Law Studies Workshop within prison facilities, including the San Martín Prison and the Padre Luchesse Prison Complex (2010-2012).
  • Speaker at Civic Education Workshops with a Legal Orientation and on the Promotion of Human Rights in contexts of confinement.

Philosophy and Approach

My work focuses on promoting restorative justice and human rights education within the criminal justice system. I believe in the importance of education and dialogue as fundamental tools for social transformation and the reintegration of people in situations of imprisonment.
