About SAJuR

An alliance for restorative justice

Who we are

We are an organization committed to restorative justice as a path to healing wounds and bringing people together. We believe conflicts should not be seen only as ruptures, but as opportunities for dialogue, reparation, and rebuilding trust.

Our mission

To transform conflict into opportunities for encounter and reparation. We work across three complementary areas:

  • Criminal: we accompany restorative justice processes that seek to repair harm and reintegrate people.
  • Educational: we promote practices of coexistence, mediation, and a culture of peace in schools and universities.
  • Community: we strengthen social bonds and foster solidarity and collective work in neighborhoods and grassroots organizations.

Our vision

We want to build more human, supportive, and peaceful communities, where every person feels part of a social fabric that cares for and recognizes them.

Why we exist

  • Because social wounds need spaces for listening and reparation.
  • Because violence and isolated punishment do not create lasting transformation.
  • Because we believe in the capacity of people and communities to reinvent themselves and grow together.

Expected impact

  • Reduced recidivism in criminal conflicts.
  • More inclusive and respectful schools.
  • Communities with greater trust and social cohesion.
